I read a skilled and serving purpose Article on Zdnet, it was posted on Oct. 16^th October, 2009 and the topic was “Microsoft exposes Firefox users to drive-by malware downloads” & “Microsoft says Google Chrome Frame doubles IE attack surface”

Sounds interesting for me why? Because I gone through so many websites of mine and my friends which reports the malware attack and I still don’t know  who is answerable for this? Designer/Developer or Hosting Service Provider? I can say it is happening everywhere in the globe, with many hosting providers Google says that is the “vulnerability problem into website code”, I agreed malware attack occur by port 80, not by any other port. Website runs in port 80 on Widows platform, port 80 used for HTTP and it cannot be controlled by firewall.

Many hosting providers said “Server already have Antivirus and it is working well, it is impossible to control this malware attack because this happens due to weakness in website codes as called vulnerability problem (SQL Injection and malware injection).

Use spybot and malware bytes to protect your system.

I know its very frustrating when see such malware notification message on your website.

As GOOGLE says;

Dear site owner or webmaster of www.yourdomainname.com,

We recently discovered that some of your pages can cause users to be infected with malicious software. We have begun showing a warning page to users who visit these pages by clicking a search result on Google.com

There are several reasons why you get such message.

1) the site was compromised
2) the site doesn’t monitor for malicious user-contributed content
3) the site displays content from an ad network that has a malicious advertiser

You need to investigate on this issue to fully understand what went wrong, each time the causes are different. But its mostly malware or virus issues which is affecting the people who visit your website. You can always get in touch with your web hosting company to run a through scan to remove all the affected files from your server. Here are few suggestions from me.

1. Make sure your computer is very clean, because often when you access your web server there are chances that the virus or malware will get copied to the server. It will keep downloading itself on the client computers when they visit your website.

2. Whenever you use iframes for your website or using any sql make sure you do all vulnerability testing before you upload the files.

3. If you are listing your site for marketing make sure that site is authorized before your signup your website and provide access to them.

If you get such malware notification message on your computer, signup with Google webmasters and follow steps.

1. On the Webmaster Tools Home page, select the site you want.
2. Parts of this site may be distributing malware message, click More details.
3. Click Request a review.
